In relation to the task I definitely see where you were inspired. The design flows, no pun intended. The use of the apex scarf combined with the shapes in the skirt are wonderful, it elongates the design and gives it a sense of fluidity. The white marrow effect under the scarf is a nice touch and I think it pulls this whole design together. I would have removed the jacket; it's not needed. Thanks.

Albeit predictable for you - I really enjoy this. The subpar layout is trumped by all the great elements you have going on. The mixing textures look so good and the hidden splurges of white underneath it all really hint to what this task asks for. It’s bloody, eerie and all things great. You have been mainly consistent and this is another good design.

Im very happy you decided not to use the green to embody rotting flesh in this design. The palette is tasteful and appropriate in relation to the glove prompt you picked. The break in the design around the waist is probably my favourite aspect; the way the flesh rips and reveals a darker gory tone is admirable. I especially enjoy the shapes in the headpiece to look almost like an aorta. Very creative design this week thanks.

This is undisputedly the best design of the whole longterm thus far. This is the task personified. There’s so much going on i’m not going to go through everything - just know it’s all incredible. The side angle has done you absolute wonders. The headpiece looks like actual pieces of meat dripping down into the train at the bottom. There’s so much textures going on but they don’t overpower each other, and even if they did - this is the task to do it. This is such an ambitious design. Almost flawless (the green shoes).

I feel as though you forgot this was meant to be a gown. You over accentuated the headpiece and made that the prominent aspect. Though I find the headpiece to be moderately interesting; I wasn't looking for that this week unfortunately. The palette doesn't incorporate any white which I find bothersome and the angle in which you shot your design; breaks it too much that I don't see how this is considered a gown. The tendons you've based your idea on; though they are gorgeous, it doesn't relate well with what I was looking for this week. Thanks.
Calum
This is odd, and not in a good way. I think there is potential in this outfit, the bottom half is good - even the middle is fine. It looks like chunks of meat trying to burst out of some cage. But that headpiece looks all sorts of wrong. The gloves don’t have much correlation to the outfit either, I thought this would be an outfit for Jambon or Agneau. It’s cluttered with too much vastly different ideas thrown together. Plus it feels like you ran with a similar headpiece to last week’s in hopes it would serve you well this week. The headpiece ruins a design that could have done well.

I abhor this. Though the idea was relevant; coagulation. Execution was lacking. I don't see how any of this blends with the glove and I don't see your inspiration. The black features disregards everything I wanted in this weeks task. I feel as though this is hardly a meat gown. I commend you on actually being able to design a gown; I just wish you pushed it further and didn't play with such harsh lines and maybe broke this conservative shape up a bit. One redeeming quality would be the earrings, they were a nice addition. Thanks.
Calum
I do like this but the structural style you have isn’t too fitting here. I actually enjoy the large use of black. I think the coagulated effect works in juxtaposition with the stark red gloves. There isn’t much meat going on however, it’s all very clean and polished. It’s a gown nonetheless, but maybe not the meatiest of gowns. That aspect lets you down.

The layering and feathering in this grotesque mixture of fabrics is gorgeous. You've played with colour and shape to design this unique chest piece. In terms of the prompt, I like that you played off of the innards of the salmon and kept the lines prominent by the use of the jacket. The palette is spot on and not overly obvious. My favourite part is the rip and difference in textures you've used in the abdomen to create that fleshy effect. The necklace isn't needed and detracts from the overall aesthetic. Well done.
Calum
I’m not big on this. The middle of your design is the saving grace for me, it’s weird and grotesque looking - on point with a task like this. I don’t really see much of your chosen glove onto this design however, and it doesn’t look like a gown to me. I hate the belt and I wish you kept it off or chosen another and I just really dislike that jacket for this task - but I get that you used it to create your centerpiece. Overall I don’t like this too much but it’s not a bad design.

The knots and twists you've created around the neck are genius, I find they work well with the silhouette you've portrayed. The white lines around the shirt relate to the prompt you've decided to use and I think you've thrown yourself at this challenge head on; successfully at that. I enjoy the ombre'd colour palette and how you've layered the belt over the gown. My favourite design element would be the use of the tattoo to create the pinched effect on the side of your design. Thanks.
Calum
I really don’t like the shirt and skirt combination but I understand why you did it. The white streaks in the shirt and belt reflect the chosen gloves really well. Your colour palette this week is well thought out, there's a clear gradient but at the same other colours burst in to break it up and balance the overall design. I also really like the detail on the chest, the glasses are genius. Good job this week.
That's it for week 8 designers. This week you've all bounced back with some exceptional designs. This has been a great addition to your portfolios and you should all be proud of what you've created for us this week. Happy reading!

Welcome to Week 8 designers. The task this week is inspired by the famous pop icon, Lady Gaga's 2010 MTV Video Music Awards Meat Dress. Below are several meat options to inspire you. Pick one of the prompts below and get designing on your gory gown. Your design will feature the chosen glove; please note we are editing these on at any angle, designers are also allowed to wear jackets in conjunction with the gloves. Good Luck.
