Welcome to Week 7 designers. For this task we urge you to create original silhouettes. Using different fabrics and clothing items, design a uniformed piece. After editing, all lines inside of your design will be removed to create something similar to the picture above.
In conjunction with the minimalistic approach on the silhouette; you are also to create a headpiece that you feel embodies your overall look.
Finally we ask you to pick 1 colour that you can show us during your photoshoot; we will incorporate that into your design. Good luck.

In terms of creating an 'original; silhouette this definitely falls flat. I can see through the shape which fabrics you've used to create the design. That being said the form and balance portrayed in a symmetrical design is to be admired. I think the use of the fun colour palette made it very likeable. The way the strap across the headpiece mends with the cuffs on the side of your ears are brilliant. A very practical use of each element to create a whole design. Thanks.

Your headpiece is a interesting creation, with the pink orbiting into the glasses - but the rest ultimately fails to reach task standards. I wanted to see an interesting silhouette and I see none of it here. The top part of the outfit is decent, there's some form there; but the rest is just block-like and boring. The lines you kept don't indicate any sort of shape. However your colour palette this week is very pleasing - which is expected. Great headpiece and colour, bad silhouette.

This doesn't fail to impress me. Deciding to design from the back is a trend we've seen from a few designers. This definitely tops. The shape is gorgeous in this; a very full gown that is something we don't often see accomplished on the runway. This is your best work to date in my opinion, very stunning palette. The headpiece is so simple but combined with the simplistic approach to the silhouette it really works wonders. I also admire the gradient in the helmet being replicated on the shoes. Another job well done.

Exactly in essence what I wanted to see this week. Intriguing and eccentric shapes that create a silhouette; which this design captures perfectly. There's just so much to look at here: the scarf as a train, the bulbous proportions at the top and the cinched centre leading to the flare of the skirt. It all ticks the boxes of this task. The headpiece is a little lacking honestly, but its redeemed completely by the outfit. Great work.

The far-fetched wrinkles in this design, though very whimsical and unique; they don't speak fashion to me. I see this design collectively as being a costume. The unpractical headpiece is too extraterrestrial it just reads the wrong way. I enjoy the shoulder pads you've created and the colour palette is vivacious. I just have a problem with some of the design choices. Thanks.

Metroid Prime 4 has just been announced and we already have the prototype model. I don't love this, but it's not the worst of the bunch. I like the odd spiked pattern, and the hints of shoulder pads. It makes a unique silhouette that I didn't really know I wanted. Yet the headpiece is just too out there especially those glasses. The colour palette is alright but i'm not a huge fan. All in all a mediocre outfit, it falls kind of flat honestly.

I think the cutouts are very delicate and 'sexy', the whole design draws attention in a dramatic way. The bold and slimming fabrics are constructed quite nicely. I think in terms of the palette it could have been vamped a little bit. I gave everyone the option to pick ANY colour and I was a bit disappointed to see black. The glasses are unnecessary and clutter the top. I think if you were to have changed the colour of the focal point this would have stood out a bit more. Thanks.
Calum
This is a lovely silhouette completely tarnished by your use of black. The cutouts here in a sort of lattice form are gorgeous but it makes zero use of the editing in this task. The headpiece isn't all too creative and the glasses are clunky against the rest of this design. Disappointed that the black ruins an outfit that otherwise would be a credible design; and when I say ruin I mean it seriously drags this down.

This is very sophisticated 'sans' the headpiece. Collectively it balances out quite well. The shoes matching the helmet was a nice touch. The silhouette is simple but ultimately I can see how you thought about placing certain fabrics to create this artistic form. The muted grey is lovely and mellows the design. I think I could have done without the snorkel, jutting out the top it just doesn't appeal. Overall a solid design.
Calum
I hate the grey, and I hate how dead the actual outfit itself feels apart from the cutouts. Your headpiece is actually pulled off well, even the snorkel - it's complex and weird and probably my favourite this week. Apart from that it doesn't scream anything to me. The cutouts just don't look interesting to me. It is a sheet with a few holes in it, which bother me even more from a precision standpoint, as they are aligned oddly. Not a huge fan.

I like the creative streak this design evokes, the cut outs in the bodice are mesmerizing and are very admirable. The use of the necklace is genius and works well with the overall aesthetic you were portraying. The headpiece is gorgeous. The height of the hat elongates your design and balances it. The only negative thing I have to say are, the shoes are being overplayed in several of your designs. Might be interesting to try something else. Thanks.
Calum
At first glance I didn't find this too interesting because it was just cutouts and it looked a little overly done. But I appreciate it more now. There is a clear silhouette here to look at mixed with solid colour choice. The headpiece is a little bizarre with the furry texture of the hat against the cold eyepiece, but it almost works. The stethoscope was a wise decision as in any other design it would look ridiculous. Overall I like this, it has its drawbacks but it's good.

Bye.
That's it for Week 7 designers. This week lacked enthusiasm; we feel as though some of you have forgotten what's at stake. With the biggest coin prize any Project Runway Longterm has had, we expected more. Thanks. Happy reading.
Conclusion
Congratulations Icearbr on your THIRD consecutive win. You've grasped your bearing and found solid ground in this competition. Well done. We say arrivederci to Kushmas, who felt it was his time to withdraw from the competition due to obligations that cannot be controlled. Kushmas has spared the elimination of one of the remaining designers this week; consider yourself lucky if you were in the bottom. Thanks designers.
